24th of July

On the 24th of July we had a picnic up Provo canyon with the fam. The food was great, the company was awesome, and the canyon was beautiful.

Great Western Horse Show

The Great Western Foxtrotter Show was held in Farmington, Utah on June 22-24. I showed two horses, Patriot's Dixie Pizzazz, and Image's Jazzy Ragtime Hit. Here are a couple pictures from the show...

We had a great show. The little three year old that I have trained (Jazmine) is still undefeated. She won all 5 of her events at this show, including 2 championships and the Breeder's Cup where I won money.

Reno

Last Wednesday afternoon I went with Preston and his Mother to Reno to watch his brother and sister-in-law show at an Arabian Horse Show. We stayed in Reno at the Sands hotel for two nights. Preston's brother, Nathan did VERY well at the show. He showed 4 horses, two won first place, and one got second place. He showed all of them in reining.

Nicole, Preston's sister-in-law showed her horse "Louie" in a couple of English Pleasure classes. She did really well but the competition was fierce so she didn't make it to the top 5. There were over 20 horses in both classes she competed in. This show was a really big show with a lot of really nice horses.

Preston and I had a good time watching the show and critiquing the horses together.
Nathan on Sage Hill Hunny Bunny. He took home first! Bunny is a half-Arabian, half Quarter Horse. I got to cool this horse down after the class. She is a nice horse.
This is Nobles Top Gun, he also won his class! This horse is out of Preston's dad's stallion, Vaguely Noble. Nathan did very well showing. Not only are his horses very well bred, he did a fantastic job training them.

The Arabian people are huge into looks. Everything looks very nice, including their stalls.
They even bring sod to lay in front of their row of stalls. Crazy.

Jerry Seinfeld Live

Preston got some tickets to Jerry Seinfeld Live in Salt Lake and talked me into going with him. I was a little nervous to go because I wasn't sure if he was going to have clean humor or not but Preston assured me that his stand-up comedy really isn't too bad. We had probably the best seats in the house, we were on the 6th row and right in the center. It was at Abravanel Hall and we couldn't help but feel pretty special being so close to the front.

Anyway, I was reluctant and fully prepared to walk out if he got too crude but I actually had a great time, he is truly a master at stand-up comedy. I am glad that we were so close because his facial expressions are hilarious. His timing is perfect. His jokes are so true and they just make you laugh at how silly humans are sometimes.

Colorado Horse Show

This past weekend I have been in Golden, Colorado (just outside of Denver) for a horse show. I showed two horses, Patriot's Dixie Pizzazz (Pizzazz), and Image's Jazzy Ragtime Hit (Jazmine).


This is Pizzazz. I won the 3-Gait-Championship on her and after this show I am in second place overall in my circuit. My coworker, Lacey, is in first place. We are pretty happy that we are doing so well.
Kamille on Tuffy, Lacey on Majestic, and me on Pizzazz. All of our shirts were custom made by Lacey's mom. She also made Kamille and Lacey's pants and chaps. She is making me some pink chaps and pants for the next show.Lacey won almost every class she entered on Majestic. I took second in trail, barrel racing, western horsemanship, and English pleasure. I took third in western pleasure, and pole bending.

Jazmine is a three-year-old filly that I broke and trained myself with some help from Geno Middleton (the greatest foxtrotter trainer ever to live) who is from Missouri. So far I have shown her at two shows and in 5 classes and she is still undefeated. At this show, I showed her in a class with 12 other horses, all were older than her and she kicked their trash. She also won the 2-Gait-Championship where I won another belt buckle. Here is a short clip of her being shown. She is amazing. I am really looking forward to showing her at the world show.

Father's Day

On Father's Day, Dad got three new ties. Preston is really good at tying ties and he even knows how to tie the double windsor. On father's day, I had him give dad a double windsor lesson...

After the tie-tying lesson we decided to go American Fork canyon and go for a hike. It was such a beautiful day.

Dad's Birthday Flight to Manti

On Dad's birthday, Dad and I flew down to Manti for the Mormon Miracle Pageant. In Dad's student ward there is a flight student named Jorge who has completed over 200 flying hours that agreed to take us down to Manti so that we could watch the pageant with the rest of the ward. We felt pretty lucky to be able to fly instead of have to drive down like everyone else. We flew in a really nice plane that is worth over $500,000. Jorge was a great pilot and he gave us a really smooth flight.


I really liked the plane we flew in. It was really nice. I didn't get sick a all, even when we were doing tight circles and zero g's. Jorge let dad fly the plane for a while. He thought dad had a lot of natural ability to fly a plane, way to go dad! Jorge was really impressed.
Here is Mount Nebo. We flew out of the Spanish Fork airport. It was a beautiful sunny day with no wind at all.When we arrived at the Manti airport, we saw this ghetto little pilot's lounge. Take a look inside...

Here we are at the foot of the temple hill before the pageant started. The temple looked so pretty. This was the first time I got to see the pageant.
