Happy Valentine's Day!

I got my hair cut and colored today and here is what is looks like! Happy Valentines Day everyone! I sent Preston a V-Day package filled with cupcakes from The Coco Bean here in Rexburg (It's basically a mormon Starbuck's complete with different flavored hot chocolate and even frappes). They got slightly smushed, but he said they still tasted great!

By-the-way, Preston and his brother made it safely down to Scottsdale for the big show, stay tuned to hear how they do. Nathan's first ride is on Monday and Preston's first ride is on Tuesday. Preston said it was 65 degrees in Scottsdale today and the sun was shining. I'm jealous.

School is going great. My graphic design class is tough, but I love it. I just learn so much. My teacher is a perfectionist to say the least. He has a trained eye for seeing mistakes. Last Tuesday we turned in our final Shapes Project. Our project had to be mounted on black matte board and mine turned out to be 1/16 of an inch crooked. I thought, it's barely even noticeable and I don't have time (or money) to make another one. No big deal. Well, he certainly noticed (within the first 5 seconds of looking at our prized projects on the wall). At least I wasn't alone on the crooked problem. Many of my classmate's work was either crooked, not optically centered, had scuff marks, or bubbles created from the glue underneath the artwork. My teacher expects our projects to look darn near perfect which is teaching me to be meticulous and professional about my work. This week I finished a poster I made for Graphic Design that is due on Tuesday. I'll be interested to see what my teacher says about it. I'm also learning a lot about the Adobe software. It's amazing what you can create and do with Illustrator and InDesign. On Friday we learned about logos and corporate identity. Take a look at the FedEx logo below:

Did you ever notice how there is an arrow pointing forward between the E and the X (the negative space between both letters)? I never noticed that before. Ok, now look at the Amazon.com logo below:

Did you ever notice that the yellow arrow underneath that looks like a smiley face is actually pointing from A to Z? Fascinating stuff.

My English class is going well. I have gotten 100% on my first two tests and I got an A- for my first paper. It is a good class, I am learning a lot. My photography class is going ok. I finally have a camera that is working properly (I have gone through three). This week I am supposed to take some portrait photos. Look out Lamoreaux's! It's model time! My animal science class is fun, we are learning how to move cattle properly using low stress, pressure and release techniques. My teachers are fun, we have a good time.

Last night I took Aliysa to a dance concert that I had to go to for FA100. It was a pretty decent concert, the dancers were pretty talented. Afterwards we went to the Coco Bean for a delicious cupcake!

I love your hair. I'd never noticed the arrow in FedEx's logo or the A to Z in Amazon. That is interesting. A cupcake from Coco's sounds good.
