Graphic Design Assignment

I'm really enjoying my graphic design class. It is a tough class that requires a lot of work but I feel like I am learning a lot. Our first assignment was to learn about and photograph examples of the principles of design (unity & variety, balance, scale & proportion, rhythm, emphasis, & depth.) Now we are putting those principles to work by drawing 60 thumbnail sketches of black and white shapes. There must be anywhere between 5-15 shapes in each thumbnail and it is required to have at least one circle, line, cross, square, and triangle. This takes an enormous amount of time and I am starting to go a bit shape-crazy but it is really making me think and be creative.

The pictures below are just some examples of my "shapes" project. (They are supposed to be horizontal but for some reason they are portrait layout. Oh well, you get the idea.)

Those look really cool, Lisa. You're a lovely "shape" artist.
